"Decarbonizing" the construction and public works sector
The construction and public works sector are significant emitters of CO2. Aware of the transformation challenge it faces, the entire industry is mobilizing, with the National Federation of Public Works (FNTP) leading the way. However, the challenges ahead are immense.
Aware of the challenges in reducing the environmental footprint of public works, the National Federation of Public Works has published a white paper titled "New Energies and New Engines in Public Works". The stakes are indeed significant for the sector:
On one hand, reconciling new engines with the specific needs of construction: 24/7 operation, outdoor work, high power demands, versatility, etc.
On the other hand, even if these low-carbon motorized equipment exist, how to ensure the supply of low-carbon energy on construction sites, which are by definition temporary, and sometimes mobile or itinerant?
TANKYOU and its flexible, mobile model emerge as a solution to consider for supplying energy for these remote, hard-to-access, and difficult-to-connect-to-electricity-grid needs.
With our mobile units, we are capable of delivering diesel, non-road diesel, biodiesel, non-road biodiesel, compressed natural gas, electricity, and hydrogen in 2024 to all construction sites in Île-de-France, Lille, and Lyon.
Road and non-road XTL biodiesel (HVO100) enables up to a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions while being compatible with all diesel engines, regardless of age and without retrofitting. This makes it an especially suitable energy source for decarbonizing the construction sector, offering immediate CO2 reductions without additional investments in the fleet, and easy transportability or storage on mobile construction sites.
